Atzaró Collection has launched a new curated Winelands experience for guests staying at Atzaró Cape Town, designed to provide an immersive and personalised introduction to the Western Cape’s most celebrated wine regions.
Rather than a fixed itinerary, the programme is tailored to each guest’s individual interests and pace. The hotel team works with guests to recommend and arrange visits to wine farms across Constantia Valley, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, with the flexibility to select preferred estates, adjust the number of visits per day and explore the regions that appeal most.
The experience is available as a standalone add-on to a stay at Atzaró Cape Town, or as part of the Atzaró Collection’s dual-centre Africa programme, the Atzaró African Ultimate Experience, which combines time in Cape Town with a high-season safari at Atzaró Okavango Camp in Botswana’s Okavango Delta.
Cape Town in Winter
June to August in the Western Cape is an ideal time to explore South Africa’s wine regions. Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, and Constantia Valley receive fewer visitors during the winter months, creating a more relaxed and attentive experience at the region’s leading wine estates and restaurants. Temperatures range between 12°C and 18°C, and the Cape’s native flora is at its most vivid following the winter rains. Private tastings, cellar tours, and restaurant reservations at the most sought-after estates are more readily available at this time of year than at any other.

Winter is also the peak safari season in Botswana’s Okavango Delta, from June to October, making it the optimal time to combine a Cape Town Winelands stay with a safari at Atzaró Okavango Camp.
The Winelands Experience
The Atzaró Cape Town team works with each guest to build a personalised Winelands programme based on their preferences, whether that is a focus on a particular wine style, a specific region, fine dining, cellar architecture or a combination of all of the above. Guests can choose how many estates to visit per day and how to structure their time across the three main regions.
The following estates are among those the hotel team recommends and can arrange, and serve as a guide to the breadth and quality of the programme:
Constantia Valley: Among the suggested estates are Constantia Glen, Steenberg Estate, and Beau Constantia -with dining options including Tryn or Bistro Sixteen82 at Steenberg Estate.
Stellenbosch: Suggested estates include Delaire Graff Estate, Tokara Wine Estate, and Thelema Mountain Vineyards.
Franschhoek: Suggested estates include Haute Cabrière, Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate, and La Résidence.
Constantia Valley, located twenty minutes from Cape Town, is home to some of South Africa’s oldest wine estates. Stellenbosch offers the region’s most celebrated concentration of luxury estates, including Delaire Graff, whose contemporary art collection and two acclaimed restaurants are among the highlights of the Cape wine circuit. Franschhoek, settled by French Huguenot refugees in the late 17th century, is widely regarded as the culinary and wine capital of the Western Cape.
Private transport for each day is arranged by the hotel. All food, drinks, tastings, and entrance fees are at the guest’s own expense, as offerings vary considerably between estates. (Pricing for transport is available on request)
Wine offerings at Atzaró Okavango Camp
For guests continuing to Atzaró Okavango Camp, the Winelands experience extends into the heart of the Delta. The camp’s wine cellar and dedicated tasting room provide a luxuriously appointed setting for sommelier-led wine experiences, with a carefully curated selection drawn exclusively from South Africa’s most celebrated wine regions.

The Atzaró African Ultimate Experience: Dual-Centre Itinerary
The Winelands experience forms the Cape Town element of the Atzaró Collection’s dual-centre itinerary, the Atzaró African Ultimate Experience. The full programme spans eight nights and nine days: three nights at Atzaró Cape Town, followed by four nights at Atzaró Okavango Camp, before a final night back in Cape Town. Guests fly from Cape Town to Maun in Botswana and transfer by helicopter over the Okavango Delta to the camp. The itinerary is available from June 2026. The 9-Day Atzaró African Ultimate Experience, combining both properties, starts at £8,100 per couple.
Atzaró Okavango Camp
Atzaró Okavango Camp is situated within a private concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana’s Okavango Delta. Named by Condé Nast Traveller’s Hot List 2025 and awarded Best New Hotel by Travel + Leisure USA, the camp comprises eight suites and two private villas – twelve suites in total – each positioned directly over the lagoon with a private plunge pool, elevated star-bed terrace, and outdoor bath. Interiors reflect the Atzaró Collection’s design aesthetic: parquet flooring, mid-century French furnishings, antiques, and African textiles.
Game drives and mokoro canoe excursions are led by expert guides and trackers. High-season sightings regularly include elephants, hippos, lions, leopards, and African wild dogs. Additional activities include bush dining, helicopter safaris, and community visits. The camp’s facilities include a spa and outdoor pool, yoga shala, open-air gym, and sommelier-led wine cellar. Conservation commitments include solar power, a reverse osmosis water system, and a partnership with the African Bush Camps Foundation, through which the camp introduced its first female guides in 2025.
